David Gregor Corner

David Gregor Corner (* 1585 in Hirschberg, Silesia, † January 9, 1648 in Göttweig ) was a Catholic priest, abbot and theologian.

Life

In Prague doctorate Corner Doctor of Philosophy in Graz and studied theology. In Retz he became pastor in 1614 and published a collection of hymns. In Vienna, he earned his doctorate in theology and moved to Senftenberg. In 1628 he entered as a novice in Göttweig. 1631 published the second edition of his Corner hymnal. It is considered one of the most comprehensive hymnals of the 16th and 17th centuries. 1636 David Corner became the Abbot of Göttweig; 1638 Rector of the University of Vienna.
