David Hudson (musician)

David Hudson is an Australian visual artist and musician, a didgeridoo virtuoso of the Aborigines.

David Hudson is a member of the tribe of Ewamin ( oo -rah -min) / Western Yalangi from the area north-west of Cairns, in Queensland in northern Australia.

He is one of the most successful representatives of a modern style of Aboriginal music. His favorite instrument is the didgeridoo. Since the late 80s, he celebrates success worldwide and has released 26 albums. In many tours, he played in Asia, America, Europe and also in such unusual places such as the Taj Mahal and the Forbidden City in China. In Germany he joined, among others, in 1993 at the opening ceremony of the 4th World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart.

David Hudson describes his compositions himself as a contemporary world music with strong traditional influence.

Besides music, David is also recognized worldwide as a dancer and entertainer. He worked from 1987-1992 at the Tjapukai Dance Theatre in Kuranda. The show was known in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest-running theater show in Australia.

He also took roles in various television series and films, including in The Iceland of Doctor Moreau on the side of Marlon Brando.
