David Kreiner

David Kreiner ( born March 8, 1981 in Kitzbühel) is a former Austrian Nordic combined.

Career

The career of the born in Kitzbühel Tyrolean began in international youth competitions. At the Junior World Championships in 1997 in Calgary, he won the bronze medal with the Austrian team. A year later, at the championships in St. Moritz he won then bronze in the individual competition. 2000 Štrbské Pleso he would combine the successes of previous years and took both in single as well as with the team in third place. Finally, for his fourth Junior World Championships 2001 in Karpacz he won the gold medal in the sprint and defend with the team to third place.

His first podium in the Senior Division made Kreiner, 2001 in Liberec. He was behind the German Ronny Ackermann second. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2001 in Lahti, he won the silver medal in the relay. The team only had to concede defeat to the Norwegians. In 2005, also followed in the Austrian relay team bronze medal at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf. In 2010 he won the gold medal in the team competition at the Olympic Games in Vancouver thanks to a fantastic mileage. On January 22, 2011 Kreiner won the final sprint of the World Cup competition in Chaux -Neuve for themselves and so won his first World Cup race.

At the beginning of the 2011/12 season Kreiner denied again some races in Austria, before he retired from the national team.

Kreiner lives in Kitzbühel in Tyrol.
