David Langton

David Langton ( born April 16, 1912 in Motherwell, Scotland, † April 25, 1994 in Stratford- upon- Avon, England; actually Basil Muir Langton - Dodds ) was a British actor.

Life

In the early 1930s began Langton his career as a stage actor, from circa 1945, he starred in leading roles on stage. From 1955 on, he worked in British films and from 1957 also in television films and series with, some of which were also shown in Germany. Gained international recognition Langton as Richard Bellamy in 1971 turned to 1975 68- part television series, The Upstairs, Downstairs. He had his last appearance in 1991 in the British television series The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes.

At the age of 82 years, David Langton died of a heart attack. His son is the British director Simon Langton (* 1941), in two episodes of the series The Upstairs Downstairs has directed among others, in 1975.
