David Leland (actor)

Louis David Leland ( born January 6, 1932 in Alassio, Italy, † November 7, 1948 in Los Angeles, California ) was an actor and child star.

Life

Louis David Leland was born in 1932 in Alassio. His parents were wealthy Americans Louis F. Leland († June 30, 1963 in Los Angeles ) and the British-born Helena M. Leonard († January 21, 1989 in Orange, California). The Leland family owned the mansion Chiays in Alassio, where David Leland lived with his siblings and his parents. David Leland had two biological sisters and two grown step-siblings from the first marriage of his father. David Leland and his family moved in 1941 or 1942 at the age of 9 or 10 years in the United States. Leland David became known as the "King Christopher" in the Laurel and Hardy film The body cooks his majesty from the year 1944. He appeared in two other films.

On September 30, 1948, the then 16 - year-old David was admitted because of acute appendicitis in conjunction with a purulent peritonitis from California Burbank Hospital and underwent surgery on 12 October 1948. On November 7, 1948 at about 1:30 clock David Leland died of septicemia caused by emphysema, multiple abscesses and pneumonia. Was Buried David Leland Louis at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Little Church of the Flowers in Glendale, California.
