David Lipsey, Baron Lipsey

David Lawrence Lipsey, Baron Lipsey (* April 21, 1948 ) is a British Labour politician.

Life

David Lipsey was raised as Baron Lipsey Lifer for peer 1999. He sits for Labour in the House of Lords. He was political adviser to Anthony Crosland during the opposition period and later advisor to 10 Downing Street. He worked as a journalist for many media outlets, including The Sunday Times, Sunday Correspondent, The Times, The Guardian and The Economist. From 1982 to 1983 he was Chairman of the Fabian Society and 1970-1972 Secretary of the Streatham Labour Party.

1997 Orwell Prize he was awarded for his work as Bagehot in the Economist. In 2004 he was elected as Chairman of the British Harness Racing Club.
