David Newman (composer)
David Louis Newman ( born March 11, 1954 in Los Angeles, California) is an American composer who mainly writes film music.
Life and work
He is the son of legendary film composer Alfred Newman, brother of Thomas Newman, nephew of Emil Newman and cousin of Randy Newman. All three are also active as a composer. In addition, he is the brother of Maria Newman and the nephew of conductor Lionel Newman.
At an early age he began to play the violin and conduct. He studied at the University of Southern California, where he made his statements as a conductor.
He received an Academy Award nomination for the soundtrack to the animated film " Anastasia". Mainly he wrote and Stephen Herek ( " The Flintstones ") (" The Mighty Ducks " ) for films of Danny DeVito ( " Matilda" ), Brian Levant.
He is married to Krystina Newman; they have a child.
