David O. Russell
David Owen Russell ( born August 20, 1958 in New York City, USA) is an American film director, film producer and screenwriter. His most famous films are Three Kings, The Fighter and Silver Linings.
Life
In 1981 he finished his studies at Amherst College.
In 1995 he was awarded two Independent Spirit Awards for his film Spanking the Monkey.
In 2008 he turned the satirical comedy Nailed with Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal, who was not completed due to financial problems.
In 2010 he released his film The Fighter with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale in the movie theaters, the 2011 earned him an Oscar nomination as Best Director. Another nomination in this category, he received in 2013 for Silver Linings, further, he was nominated this year for best adapted screenplay.
David O. Russell was married from 1992 to 2007 with the producer Janet Grillo, with whom he has a child.
