David Obua

David Obua ( born April 10, 1984 in Kampala ) is a Ugandan footballer who was active at Heart of Midlothian in Scotland.

Club career

In 2005, Obua joined Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa. In his first season there ( 2006/ 07) he won the championship and the South African Player of the Year Award.

After the expiration of his contract at Kaizer Chiefs, he joined in the summer of 2008 free transfer in the Scottish Premier League Heart of Midlothian. He made his debut against FC St. Mirren. After his expiring contract was not renewed at the Scots, he is without a club since the summer of 2012.

For Uganda since 2001 he played in the National Dress.

Family

David Obua is the son of Denis Obua, who played for Uganda at the African Cup of Nations 1978. His uncle John Akii - Bua was at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich by winning the 400 - meter hurdles in world record time ( 47.82 sec ) of the first Olympic champion from Uganda.
