David Ogden Watkins

David Ogden Watkins ( born June 8, 1862 in Woodbury, Gloucester County, New Jersey, † June 20, 1938 ) was an American politician and 1898-1899 Acting Governor of the State of New Jersey.

Career

David Watkins attended the local schools of his home. After studying law he was admitted in 1893 as a lawyer. Politically, he was a member of the Republican Party. Between 1886 and 1890 he was mayor of the town of Woodbury. After that, he was from 1892 to 1898 at the City Council of this municipality, where he was its chairman 1895-1897.

Since 1887 to 1899 he was a deputy in the New Jersey General Assembly.
