David P. Goldman

David P. Goldman is an American columnist and author. He became internationally known through his anonymous columnist for the Internet portal Asia Times Online, which he wrote under the pseudonym " Spengler " (after Oswald Spengler) and to discuss the recent economic, political and ideological developments in the Western world. According to the Dutch writer Leon de Winter Goldman's columns include " [ ... ] to the allerinteressantesten that exist to read the world ".

Goldman studied economics, musicology, mathematics and philosophy and worked as an investment banker for Bank of America and the Swiss bank Credit Suisse. From 1994 to 2001 he worked as a columnist for Forbes magazine.

In 2011, Goldman published the book "How Civilizations Die ( And Why Islam Is Dying Too) ", which examines the attested Goldman cultural decline of the West and the Islamic world.
