David Payne (athlete)

David Payne ( born July 24, 1982 in Cincinnati ) is an American hurdler who specializes in the 110- meter track.

In 2007 he was fourth in the U.S. Championships and won the silver medal at the Pan American Games in 2007. As a substitute for the world championships in Osaka nominated, he jumped in a place of the injured Dominique Arnold and surprisingly won bronze with his personal best of 13.02 seconds.

With a third- place finish at the U.S. elimination fights ( Trials ) he qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where he (CUB ) was beaten in the final world record holder Dayron Robles and only won with a time of 13.17 s silver, where he had a hundredth of a second ahead of his compatriot David Oliver on the bronze medal.

At the World Championships in Berlin in 2009, he won the bronze medal in a time of 13.15 s.

David Payne is 1.85 m tall, weighs 81 kg and lives in Hampton ( Virginia).
