David Plouffe

David Plouffe (born 1967 ) is a campaign advisor to the Democratic Party in the United States. He led the election campaign of Barack Obama in the presidential election of 2008.

Plouffe worked from the winter of 2000 to 2002 in ACP Message & Media in February 2004 and was a partner of the firm. In between he was strategic lead of the unsuccessful presidential campaign of Dick Gephardt.

In 2011, he was followed by David Axelrod as a senior adviser in the White House.
