David Poile

David Poile ( born February 14, 1949 in Toronto, Ontario) is the General Manager of the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League.

Career as a player

David Poile, the son of Hall of Famers Bud Poile, played from 1967 to 1970 for the North Eastern University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. He then played one season for the Braintree Hawks and Rochester Americans.

Career as General Manager

Before GM Poile of the Nashville Predators was, he was already working for the Calgary Flames and the Washington Capitals where he worked for 15 years as GM operates.

Poile was general manager of the U.S. national team in 1998 and 1999. In the 2000 /01 season he was awarded the Lester Patrick Trophy, which has already received his father Bud Poile.

Poile is mainly known for his surprising player transactions. For example, he brought in the last three years, players like Steve Sullivan, Paul Kariya, Peter Forsberg, Jason Arnott and Vitaly Vishnevsky to Nashville.
