David Ross (delegate)

David Ross ( born February 12, 1755 Prince George's County, Maryland, † 1800 in Frederick County, Maryland ) was an American politician, who participated as a delegate from Maryland to the Continental Congress.

As a young man, David Ross joined the American Revolution movement. He was assigned to January 1, 1777 by General George Washington in the rank of major of the regiment, Lieutenant Colonel William Grayson. There he served until his retirement from the military on December 20 of the same year. He had to take care of the family after the death of his father. In addition, he studied law and was admitted in 1783 to the bar, after which he began practicing as a lawyer in Frederick County.

From 1785 to 1787 he was sent as a delegate from Maryland to the meetings of the Continental Congress for New York. Other public offices he held no more until his death in 1800.
