David S. Goyer

David Samuel Goyer ( born December 22, 1965 in Ann Arbor, Michigan) is an American comic book and screenplay writer and film director.

Life

David S. Goyer was interested in since early childhood for comics. He grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and graduated in 1988 to study at the School of Cinema-Television at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles from. His first major success came in 1990 and the screenplay for the film Death Warrant with Jean -Claude Van Damme. Besides his work as a screenwriter, Goyer was also active as a writer of comic books; so he wrote for DC Comics, for example, 50 issues of the Justice Society of America. Other screenplays created Goyer esp. for comic book movies, in which he, as in the case of Blade: Trinity led, also directed. He was nominated in 1999 for Dark City and 2006 for Batman Begins for the Saturn Award, and won the 1999 Australian Film Critics a prize for his screenplay for Dark City. Goyer wrote the screenplay for Godzilla remake, his version was later re-written by Max Borenstein. Goyer has worked since 2013 as the creator, director and screenwriter for the American- British History series Da Vinci's Demons. 2013 he has worked as executive producer on the film adaptation of the comic Y: The Last Man.
