David S. Hall (art director)

David Samuel Hall ( born July 23, 1905 in Northern Ireland; † July 23, 1964 ) was a British art director and production designer, who was twice nominated for the Academy Award for Best Production Design.

Life

Hall began his career as an art director, production designer and production designer in the film industry in 1929 at the movies Hot for Paris as well as the iron mask with and worked until 1945 on the construction of nearly twenty films.

At the Oscar ceremony in 1938 was the first time nominated for the Academy Award for Best Production Design and indeed with William S. Darling for Wee Willie Winkie (1937 ) based on the short story by Rudyard Kipling.

After nearly twenty year break from the film business he worked until his death at the facilities of until 1965 finished movie The Greatest Story Ever Told with and was it posthumously at the Academy Awards in 1966 along with Richard Day, William J. Creber, Ray Moyer, Fred M. MacLean and Norman Rockett again nominated for the Academy Award for best Production Design.
