David S. Ward

David Schad Ward ( born October 25, 1945) is an American film director and screenwriter.

Career

David S. Ward studied at the U.S.C. and the UCLA Film School, after graduating in 1973 he wrote the screenplay for The Sting, for which he in 1974 at the age of 29 years won an Oscar. 1986 Ward was visited by trick - star Robert Redford; beseeching him, and the screenplay for Milagro - to write War in the bean field. In 1989, with the Indians of Cleveland, which he also wrote the screenplay, his breakthrough as a director.
