David Selby

David Lynn Selby ( born February 5, 1941 in Morgantown, West Virginia ) is an American actor.

Life and achievements

Selby is the son of Ira ​​Clyde Selby and Sarah E. McIntyre Selby and grew in his youth in Morgantown in the U.S. state of West Virginia. Selby wanted to be an actor at an early stage and therefore studied in his home town on the West Virginia University drama, earned his bachelor and master's degree and doctorate there even later.

From 1968-1971 he played Quentin Collins on the hit series Dark Shadows of the U.S. ABC television network. Later, the movie " The Castle of Lost Souls " ( Night of Dark Shadows ) went with him in the lead role even on the canvas.

From 1981-1982, he played in the final season of NBC's Flamingo Road Michael Tyronne.

But his major international breakthrough came in the role of Richard Channing in the series Falcon Crest. He is the son of the matriarch of a wine empire Angela Channing, played by Jane Wyman, both but only learned at the end of the series that they are mother and son and fight to the death before. At his side, Susan Sullivan and Lorenzo Lamas played in this series. When he learned during the filming of the poor health of Jane Wyman, who even had to suspend some episodes of the series because of that, he visited her at the bedside with llamas and Sullivan, who were their friendly relationship through the filming. His involvement in this series lasted from 1982-1990 and ended with the setting of the series. With Jane Wyman, he remained closely connected until her death on 10 September 2007.

Selby played with various Hollywood stars with his side in a few films, but is also active as a writer.

He is married to his wife Claudeis chip since 1963 and has three children, two daughters and a son. His wife comes out as West Virginia.

  • Selby won the Soap Opera Digest Award in 1988 for his role in Falcon Crest. He was nominated for four more times, but remained unsuccessful.
