David Silverman

David Silverman ( born March 15, 1957 in New York City, USA ) is an American animator. He is known for the animation of the first episodes of the television series The Simpsons and also worked on films like Ice Age and Monsters, Inc.. Silverman is also involved as a director on The Simpsons and other productions. He was honored in the category of Outstanding Individual Achievement in the Field of Animation with an Annie Award in 1992.

Silverman is also director of the film published in 2007, The Simpsons - The Movie.

In 2012 he directed the short film The Simpsons longest Kita- day, which was nominated in 2013 for Best Animated Short Film Oscar. The animated film was shown as part of the 20th Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart, which he enriched as a guest several times already. In 2013 he was there beside Peter Smith and Janne Hendrikz jury member in the category Cartoons for Teens.
