David Speedie

David Robert Speedie ( born February 20, 1960 in Glenrothes ) is a former Scottish footballer.

Life and career

Speedie was born in Scotland but grew up in Yorkshire, England. He worked as a buddy in an English coal mine before 1978 when Barnsley FC a contract signed. 1982 by not a single goal as a striker for Barnsley, he signed a contract with FC Darlington. After only two years, he moved to Darlington in 1982 for 80,000 pounds transfer fee to Chelsea. After five relatively successful years with the Blues, it was incorporated in 1987 to Coventry City. The Sky Blues paid 750,000 pounds for Speedie. After career at Coventry City he played from 1991 to 1994 for a total of seven clubs. The clubs in chronological order: FC Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Southampton FC, Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United and Leicester City. International Speedie played ten times for the Scottish national football team. Currently the Scot works as a player agent.
