David Verney, 21st Baron Willoughby de Broke

Leopold David Verney, 21st Baron Willoughby de Broke FRSA, FRGS ( born 14 September 1938) is a British peer.

He is to remain one of the 92 hereditary peers who were elected after the adoption of the House of Lords Act of 1999 in the House of Lords. Originally he belonged to the Tories, but later switched to UKIP. He is one of three members of this party in the House of Lords. In 1986 he became the 21st Baron Willoughby de Broke, as the successor of his father. From 1999 to 2004 he was president of the Heart of England Tourist Board.

Verney was 1965-1989 first marriage with Petra Aird, daughter of Colonel Sir John Renton Aird, 3rd Baronet. Since 2003, he is married to Alexandra du Luart, a granddaughter of Rab Butler. With his first wife he had three sons, including Rupert Greville Verney, his heir. He also has two stepdaughters.
