David Villa Sánchez ( born December 3, 1981 in Tuilla, Langreo municipality in Asturias, Spain ) is a Spanish football player. He stands at Atletico Madrid as a forward contract. In Spain it is often - in allusion to his name - " Maravilla " (Eng. miracle ) called.
Career
Youth
In his childhood Villa played often with children who were older and bigger than him. At the age of nine, he broke in a game after an attack of a larger opponent 's thigh bone. He was taken to the hospital 20 km away, Valle del Nalon where the attending physician Dionisio Cuetos even thought of amputation first. Ultimately, Villa was able to return after a three- hour surgery and a one and a half month stay in the hospital to home. This injury could have prevented his pro career, but he was able to play football again after three months.
Even as a child admired Villa Spanish footballer Luis Enrique; in his honor, he was also for a time the number 21 in the Spanish national team. Currently, he is wear the number 7 in his club Atletico Madrid, he runs with the number 9 on the back.
Start of career
His footballing career started in 1991 at Villa UP Langreo. In 1999, he signed his first professional contract with Sporting Gijon and first played in the second team of the club; from 2000, however, he was brought into the first team. Villa describes himself as a great admirer of Juanele and Luis Enrique, two strikers from his Asturian homeland and Sporting Gijón, just the club, where he learned to play football themselves.
In 2003, he joined the La Liga to Real Zaragoza, where he lost his stated acquisition match in the highest Spanish League against Deportivo La Coruña 0-1 on 31 August 2003. FC Valencia
2005 joined Villa for twelve million euros to FC Valencia, where he scored 2005/ 06 24 goals in his first season as the best and second best scorer of the Spanish league was ( behind Samuel Eto'o with 25 goals ).
He participated with Valencia on UI Cup 2005, where he contributed 1-0 in his second game for Valencia against AA Gent. Villa extended in March 2006 his contract until 2013. His popularity among the fans of the Valencia CF rose with his success on and on. They called at home games incessantly chanted his name and Villa Maravilla ( "Villa, the miracle ").
In winter 2006 Transfer rumors were heard. Supposedly the English Premiere League club Chelsea should have shown an interest in the Spanish striker. In the National Team

23 May 2012 Villa said that he can not participate in the 2012 European Football Championship, due to its sustained injury in December.
On September 7, 2012, he came in a friendly game against Saudi Arabia for the first time after his injury again, scoring in the 62nd minute penalty the intermediate 4-0 to 5-0 victory.
