David Weller

David Weller ( born February 11, 1957 in Portmore ) is a retired Jamaican track cyclist.

Thrice launched David Weller at the Olympic Games: Montreal 1976, he finished in the 1000 -meter time trial eleventh, 1980 in Moscow he won the bronze medal in the time trial and 1984 in Los Angeles, he came in the same discipline in sixth place.

International launched Weller also at Pan American Games and Commonwealth Games. At the Pan American Games in 1975 in Mexico City and in 1979 in San Juan, he won the silver medal each on the odometer, 1983 in Caracas the bronze medal. In the Commonwealth Games 1978 in Edmonton Weller won the bronze medal in the sprint. In addition, he won two gold medals at the 1978 Central American and Caribbean Games.

To date, David Weller is the only Jamaican athlete who won an Olympic medal in a sport other than athletics. 1979 and 1980 he was Jamaica's Sportsman of the Year.
