David Zibung

David Zibung ( born January 10, 1984 in Hergiswil ) is a Swiss football goalkeeper, who is under contract with FC Lucerne since 2003.

Career

Zibung was in Swiss football long as a promising talent on the position of the goalkeeper. His strong performances in the promotion season of FC Luzern (2005/ 06) earned him three caps for the U21 national team. From the second half of the season 2006/ 07 he became the new captain of FC Luzern.

In 2007 he participated for the second time after 2005 (1:3 defeat against FC Zurich ) with FC Luzern at the final of the Swiss Cup in part, however, saw in injury time for a foul red card. Daniel Majstorovic converted the penalty after that against the substitute substitute goalkeeper Besnik Zukaj the 1-0 final score for FC Basel.

2008 Zibung was after strong performances in the Axpo Super League as a candidate for the position of goalkeeper for Borussia Dortmund, as Roman Weidenfeller had experienced in the previous season, a period of weakness. In the season 2010/11 Zibung convinced with strong performances and won with FC Luzern the winter championship.

Zibung lives since 2012 in the municipality Schenkon / LU.
