The Davis Mountains are a mountain range in western Texas, USA, near the town of Fort Davis, after which they are named. Large parts of the mountains are shown as Davis Mountains State Park. The state park and the mountains are a popular place for camping, hunting and hiking. The only permanent accommodation is the Indian Lodge.
Shortly after the turn of the millennium, the American environmental organization Nature Conservancy has acquired 130 km ² area, along with rights for more 136.9 km ². This area is accessible at specific times for the public.
The McDonald Observatory of the University of Texas is on Mount Locke.
