The Davissee is a marginal sea of the Southern Ocean. It is located in the eastern part of the Antarctic continent on the continental shelf in an area between the Westeisschelf and the Shackletoneisschelf. Just inland is the Kaiser Wilhelm II Land.

Named the area of Douglas Mawson after sealers John Davis, who is said to have made ​​the first landfall on the Antarctic continent on February 7, 1821.

From 1901 to 1903, the first German South Polar expedition sailed under the direction of Erich von Drygalski the waters of the Davissee. At the Antarctic coast in Westeisschelf the Russian Mirnyj station was created in 1956.
