Daviz Simango

Daviz Simango (* 1964) is the chairman and the central figure of the party Movimento Democrático de Moçambique (MDM ) in Mozambique and in the second term, Mayor of Beira. Simango occurred also in the short term as one of three candidates for the presidential election in Mozambique in 2009 and won it a moderate success.

Life and political career

Simango has completed an engineering degree. His father Uriah Simango was a founder and vice president of FRELIMO, however, was executed along with his wife and other FRELIMO dissidents without trial on the orders of the party.
