DB Museum Koblenz

The DB Museum Koblenz is a railway museum, which was opened on April 21, 2001 in Koblenz as the first location outside the Transport Museum in Nuremberg. It is in the context of the foundation train social work (BSW ) led by volunteers and has its origin in the BSW leisure group for the preservation of historic train. History

The DB Museum Koblenz is housed in the former repair shop for wagons in Neuendorf district. The plant was built in 1905 as part of the remodeling and expansion of the freight depot Luetzel as Bahnbetriebswerk Koblenz- Luetzel.

Originally the site comprised a large roundhouse with double hub, where the locomotives were home for freight trains, and the wagon shed, were set in the service until 1995 freight wagons. After the dissolution of 1968, it now houses the cars of the DB Museum Koblenz. The old depot was removed in several sections until the early 1980s.

Model Railways

The commitment of model train farmers in BSW Group owes the DB Museum Koblenz four facilities: a garden railway with a track width of 5 inches in scale 1: 11, two model cars in scale H0 ( Two -wire DC / Trix Express) and an LGB garden railway layout.
