DB Schenker Rail Polska

DB Schenker Rail Polska S. A. (formerly PCC Rail SA) is a subsidiary of DB Schenker Rail in Poland.

History

PCC Rail was established as a subsidiary of Duisburg PCC based on the sand rail company Przedsiębiorstwo Materiałów Podsadzkowych Przemysłu Węglowego. The guided by PCC Rail subsidiaries had approximately 5,800 employees in 2008 together operated 400 locomotives and 7700 wagons and achieved a turnover of around 350 million euros ( PCC Rail 100 million ).

In January 2009, PCC Logistics division was ( with the exception of PCC Intermodal operating in container traffic ) sold to the German railway. PCC Logistics is incorporated into the DB Logistics Group DB Schenker Rail as Eastern Europe division. In November 2009, the railway company was renamed DB Schenker Rail Polska. The acquisition was accompanied by a realignment of the company. Previously, it was geared to local traffic and the operation of railway sidings. Now, national and international transports were taken as a container train from Wroclaw to London. 2013 employed a fleet of 400 locomotives and 6,000 cars 4,400 employees.

Rolling stock

Since 2011, the Class 66 locomotives are used. In December 2012, DB Schenker Rail Polska ordered at Siemens Rail Systems 23 locomotives from Vectron. In addition, an option has been granted 13 pieces. The locomotives will be built at the Krauss- Maffei-Strasse in Munich at the Siemens factory. Furthermore, various older Polish locomotives for DB Schenker Rail Polska in use. They all wear the distinctive red color traffic by Deutsche Bahn.
