De Grootste Belg

De Grootste Belg ( The largest Belgian ) was a television program of the Flemish transmitter canvas, which ran in 2005. She was looking for the greatest Belgian or the largest Belgian. The Walloon counterpart ran on RTBF and was called Le plus grand Belge. The nominees had to have lived between 50 BC and the time of the preparation within the limits of present-day Belgium. As Belgium gained its independence only in 1830, numerous historical personalities were selected who lived for example in the Spanish Netherlands.
