De Koel

The Seacon Stadion De Koel is a football stadium in the Dutch border town of Venlo and home of VVV-Venlo.

Description

The stadium is located on the Kaldenkerkerberg in the southwest of Venlo. Inaugurated on March 19, 1972 with a match between VVV -Venlo and SC Cambuur - Leeuwarden (1:1). Currently with a capacity of 7,500 spectators precisely, the attendance record at the De Koel stadium is 24,500 spectators during the match against Ajax Amsterdam in 1977.

In 2004, the entire sports facility was renovated. Since then it is known as Seacon Stadion, in which it has been renamed. For the Eredivisie season 2007/ 08, as VVV-Venlo should play first class again since 1994, made ​​enhancements to the stadium.
