De La Rue

The traditional British company De La Rue plc. Founded in 1813 by Thomas de la Rue and is now the world's largest private producer of banknotes and security documents. About 150 national currencies and numerous security documents such as travelers checks are made with the support of De La Rue. The company employs more than 4,000 people in 24 countries. De La Rue plc. is listed on the FTSE 250 index of the London Stock Exchange ( LSE) under the symbol DLAR.

In September 2008, De La Rue parted in a management buy-out from its cash management division, which subsequently traded as an independent company under the name of Talaris.

Competition

Main competitor on the world market is Giesecke & Devrient GmbH, based in Munich as a manufacturer of systems and solutions for banknotes and banknote processing in central banks and commercial banks.
