Dealership management system

A dealer management system (DMS ) is an IT system which supports car dealerships in the execution of all necessary business processes. These include the automotive purchase and sale, the parts trade as well as the workshop processes. Financial accounting, marketing, CRM, and inventory and statistics are increasingly supplied as standard with a DMS.

Manufacturer certified DMS

Here usually meet vehicle manufacturers (OEMs) a selection from the existing providers of such software and make a recommendation for its distribution partners. If such a recommendation by, the interfaces for the communication between the car dealership and OEM are realized in collaboration with the software vendors. These interfaces allow the dealership to simply transmit one hand, orders for motor vehicles and articles, and on the other hand demanded by the OEM evaluations. The functionality and performance of such DMS significantly differ per provider.

DMS for Free Workshops

These differ in that they do not receive manufacturer's certification generally. Car manufacturers have to disclose interfaces and deep internals. More and more OEMs open up to DMS manufacturers for independent workshops. These create so-called modules, to, without providing certification to represent different car brands.
