Dean Heffernan

Dean Heffernan ( born May 19, 1980 in Sydney ) is an Australian football player.

About the Wollongong Wolves and Sydney United, he moved to the foundation of the Australian A-League to the Central Coast Mariners. In the season 2005/ 06 he was a regular at left-back, scoring eight goals.

From the Mariners, who were runners-up this season, he was together with his defensive colleagues Michael Beauchamp on loan for a year at the 1st FC Nuremberg in the Bundesliga, but there was not a league use. Accordingly, for 2007/08 season he returns to the Mariners, where he signed a contract until 2010. During the season he reached the Central Coast again the final of the A-League, but lost 0-1 again, but this time against Newcastle United Jets. In January 2010, he joined the Melbourne Heart, however, went on loan to the English third division side Huddersfield Town, so he returned to Europe. With the change he hoped for, the chances of a nomination for the 2010 World Cup.
