Dean Heller
Dean Heller ( born May 10, 1960 in Castro Valley, California) is an American politician ( Republican). From 2007 to 2011 he represented the second electoral district of Nevada in the U.S. House of Representatives; since May 3, 2011, he is a member of the U.S. Senate for this state.
Career
Even as a small child came Dean Heller Nevada. He attended Carson High School in Carson City and then to 1985, the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Prior to his political career, he worked in the stock market and stock trading. Between 1990 and 1994 he sat as an MP in the Nevada Assembly. From 1995 to 2007 he was managing as Secretary of State official of the Government of Nevada.
In 2006 he was elected for the second district of Nevada in the U.S. House of Representatives. In this election, he sat down with five percentage points against vote lead by Jill Derby of the Democratic Party. In 2008, he was confirmed in his office, where he again won against Jill Derby with still more noticeable advantage. In November 2010, he again succeeded with a clear result against Democrat Nancy Price 's re-election for a further term of office. Heller is a member of the Committee on Ways and Means. His name has been associated with the gubernatorial elections of 2010; also about a possible candidacy for the U.S. Senate has been speculation in the meantime. Heller explained but not wanting to compete against the Democratic incumbent Harry Reid, who then met with Sharron Angle and this defeated.
When the then U.S. Senator for Nevada, John Ensign, announced in April 2011, his resignation to May 3, 2011, Heller was in the media as the first candidate for the position and was established in May actually by Governor Brian Sandoval for Senator in the successor appointed Ensigns. Heller won the regular Senate election in November 2012 against the Democratic Congresswoman Shelley Berkley scarce and is therefore chosen to January 2019.
Dean Heller is a Mormon and married to Lynee Heller, with whom he has four children.
