Dean Tavoularis

Dean Tavoularis ( born May 18, 1932 in Lowell, Massachusetts) is an American Designer.

Dean Tavoularis was born as the son of Greek immigrants in Massachusetts. He grew up in Los Angeles, however. After studying architecture and painting, he began to work at the Disney Studios as a draftsman. The director Arthur Penn hired him in 1967 for his film Bonnie Clyde as a production designer. His breakthrough as one of the greatest production designer of the film business he witnessed the scene images to Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather. Since then connects it with Coppola a decade-long collaboration. He received his only Oscar for Coppola's The Godfather - Part II In total he received for his screenshots five Academy Award nominations.

Dean Tavoularis is married to the French actress Aurore Clément. They met during the filming of Apocalypse Now know. Aurore plays the role of Roxanne Sarrault. It is, however, only seen in the Reduxversion. From the first theatrical version of their scenes were deleted.
