Deana Carter

Deana Carter ( born January 4, 1966 in Nashville, Tennessee) is an American country singer.

As the daughter of well-known session guitarist Fred Carter Jr. of Nashville Deana soon came into contact with country music. A first attempt to be taken at a record company under contract struck in 1983 failed. So she decided to first for an education as a rehabilitation therapist. During her studies at the University of Texas she had first appearances as a singer. At 23, she began to write songs and learned to play the guitar.

Career

Willie Nelson, Deana Carter had known as a child, one day a produced of her demo tape heard and invited them then to a Farm Aid concert one. Shortly after, she received a contract from the label, Capitol Records. In 1996, the album Did I Shave My Legs for This? published. The removed from this CD, composed by Matraca Berg song Strawberry Wine reached No. 1 on the country charts and was the CMA Single of the Year. Their debut album was certified platinum four times, more singles reached top positions.

For the songs that she has contributed to the soundtracks of the films Hope Floats and Anastasia, Carter received a Grammy and a Golden Globe nomination and an Academy Award nomination for Once upon a December from Anastasia. During a televised Christmas party she sang before President Clinton. Your 1998 released album Everything's Gonna Be Alright could not build on the successes of Did I Shave My Legs for This. However, it reached gold status and some songs had made it onto the top of the country charts.

A little later she left her record company. In 2003, she celebrated the Arista label with I'm Just a Girl a comeback.
