Dear Diary (1996 film)

Dear Diary is a short film, which has been awarded in 1997 with an Oscar. The film was originally written as a TV pilot for ABC. When, however, canceled the project, the director David Frankel had understanding of the decision not to send this production as a half-hour comedy series. The executive film producer was Barry Larson.

Action

Dear Diary shows the life of Bebe Neuwirth, which is a 40 -year-old art director for a New York magazine. Neuwirth, a mother of two, decides one day the events of her life in the form of diary entries to write down. You see, while she reads the entries as narrator tells, always accompanying images that change in the fast pace and be awakened by her voice to life.

Production

The short film was shot in 44 different sets and the crew consisted of 75 people. The budget was between $ 1,000,000 and $ 2,000,000. These are relatively high numbers because the budget is usually much lower.
