Debra Fischer

Debra Fischer ( * 1953 ) is Professor of Astronomy at San Francisco State University and the University of California, Berkeley.

Fischer studied physics at the University of Iowa in 1975 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree. In 1986, she began graduate studies in physics and astronomy at the FSU; In 1992 she received her Master of Science degree. As of 1994, she conducted research at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and received his doctorate in 1998.

Fischer is co-author of more than 80 scientific papers on dwarf stars and substellar object masses in the galactic neighborhood, v. a many extrasolar planets. She is also a member of the planet search team Geoffrey Marcy, the search for extrasolar planets, and has already discovered numerous.

Debra Fischer has three children.
