Debris

Ruins are the remains of a destroyed building or vehicle. In the alpine geology and large blocks of rock slide or downed material of rock walls are so named.

The word is originally a plural of debris strand, but is now used except in Austria just as plurals tantum. Strand comes from the Middle High German word drum (, piece ',' end '). Linked to this are the expressions drumen or drümen (, break into pieces ').

In civil protection rubble of a destroyed building that still lie to each other before the clean, also referred to as debris cones. In geology, the sliding down of a collapsing volcano, huge masses of rock are called because of their extremely rapid flow behavior debris avalanche.

In the Bavarian language strand thinks generally a thing - mainly when it is bulky or clunky or if it is " always lying around in the way". The word still exists as a singular in everyday language.
