Decamentathlon

Decamentathlon is a multi- fight, which was created for the first Brain Sports Olympics to find the best thought - sports - rounder in the world. The first place was originally worth 10,000 pounds, the same as the highly -doped single discipline, which was sponsored by Skandia. While the other disciplines were distributed in time stronger, Decamentathlon took place in one session. The discipline was intended as a flagship of the thought - sports Olympics. Format

The thought - Sports Olympiad was intended as Olympics of the mind. Decamentathlon and Pentamind were inspired by the decathlon and pentathlon. Unlike Pentamind Decamentathlon has a fixed format. It consists of a four-hour test, which is divided into ten fields. Each discipline was either a reduced version, full versions with two players against each other or a paper. In each discipline, you can make a maximum of one hundred points, so that you can reach a maximum of 1000 points. The complexity of Decamentathlon causes this sport is exercised only on the thinking sports Olympics with the annual World Championship.

Decamentathlon consists of the following disciplines: Contract Bridge, Chess, Creative Thinking, 8x8 drafts, go, intelligence, mastermind, memory, mental arithmetic, Othello.

The discipline of memory consists of a fixed format: players have to memorize a deck of cards and a number of 96 digits. 2008 was tested in place of Bridge backgammon.

Controversy

There is dispute about the proposition that the discipline favored speaking of English, especially in creative thinking and intelligence. It was only once a winner without English as a first language, Gert Schnider. On the other hand, some of the winners have won the Decamentathlon in other years when Pentamind so that the preferential treatment of is low.
