Decay chain#Neptunium series
The neptunium series is the natural decay series of Neptuniumisotops 237Np. When her Endnuklid long time was considered the Bismutisotop 209Bi. In 2003 it was discovered that this nuclide is unstable and decays to the thallium isotope 205Tl, which is the Endnuklid the series. The series, however, can be continued beyond the neptunium addition to even heavier transuranic elements. Here, however, the presentation is continued only until 241Pu, which is formed in small amounts in nuclear reactors. ( Extension in red. )
The Neptuniumreihe is also referred to as " prehistoric " series, as the existing in the formation of the Earth 237Np is already disintegrated completely. Today the Neptuniumreihe exists - but in an artificial way - again because Anfangsnuklide as 241Pu, 237Np and 233U are bred in nuclear reactors as a side or main products.
