Dechow

Dechow is a municipality in the western part of the North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Rehna based in the same city.

Geography

The community Dechow the south of the 177 -acre lake Röggeliner, the north adjoins the Schaalsee chain, located between the cities of Ratzeburg and Gadebusch. Lübeck is about 23 km, the state capital Schwerin around 32 miles away. Area Dechows on the border to Schleswig -Holstein is forest and lakes rich with hilly relief ( Ruthenberg 67 m above sea level. History

The place was first mentioned in 1194 lauenburgisch to 1945. Through adjustments to the boundary line between the British and Soviet occupation zone (Barber - Ljaschtschenko Agreement in November 1945), Dechow came along with upper and lower case Thurow (now districts of the municipality Roggendorfstraße ) to Mecklenburg. The former Dechower district Lankow was so close to the German border, that he was the construction of the border fortifications of the GDR side in the way and was destroyed in 1976. Economy and infrastructure

Transport links

Federal highway 208 ( Ratzeburg - Gadebusch ) passes one kilometer south of Dechow. To the surrounding cities Zarrentin am Schaalsee, Rehna and Schoenberg can be reached via good roads.
