Decomposer

As Destruent (also Reduzent or ( re-) Mineralisierer ) is in ecology called an organism that breaks down organic matter and reduced to inorganic material. This is referred to as decomposers decomposers. Decomposers are generally bacteria and fungi. The decomposers include the Saprobionten that feed on dead organic material. However, they decompose the organic matter often not completely inorganic material.

Decomposers are solely heterotrophic organisms. They are the last link in a food chain and complete the material cycle by providing the producers again, the inorganic substances are available.

In the remineralization two phases are distinguished: Mechanical comminution and the biochemical decomposition. Among the animals that provide for the crushing and distribution of organic matter in the soil, primarily includes the earthworms, the horn mites and springtails. Fungi and bacteria complete the process and make the producers again starting material for the assimilation available.

Decomposers to be global resource-or substrate- controlled. They are limited by the available amount of dead organic matter, and not by other factors such as disease or parasites. If this were not the case, would the dead organic material arising, accumulate rapidly and it would fossil fuels produces.
