Dedumose II

Djed - nefer -Re Dedumose (also Djedneferre Dedumose ) was an ancient Egyptian King (Pharaoh) of the Second Intermediate Period. Its exact position is uncertain.

It has been suggested that this ruler is identical to Djedhotepre Dedumose and in the course of his reign changed his throne name. This is possible, but not provable.

The proper name Dedumose still appears on a stela from Edfu and in a graffito at Elkab. This evidence can not be attributed with certainty this or Djedhotepre Dedumose.

The name Djed - nefer -Re Dedumose, a connection from the throne and proper name appears only with security on a stele of Gebelein. On limestone fragments from the Mentuhotep II temple at Deir el- Bahari his name is to eventually find, but these fragments are destroyed.

The Turin Royal Canon, the name [ ... ] ms is obtained, which may refer to one of these rulers.

Manetho reported that under a king Toutimaos Egypt was conquered by the Hyksos. There have been attempts to identify these Toutimaos with Dedumose, which were, however, rejected by various authors, mostly from philological reasons.
