In his most famous work Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee ( Original title: " Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee " ) he describes the suffering and the destruction of the American Indians ( ' Written with blood and teardrop original quote ) under the American expansion. The book written from the perspective of indigenous people helped the Indian culture in higher esteem. In the U.S., " Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee " was sold to date, over 5 million times, and in 2001 the readers of the New York Times chose it as one of the four most influential books of the 20th century.
