Dee Snider

Dee Snider ( born March 15, 1955 in Massapequa, Long Iceland, New York; actually David Daniel Snider ) is an American musician and the lead vocalist of the glam metal band Twisted Sister.

Life

Even as a child sang Snider in church and school choir and trained as a classical training as a countertenor. In favor of the rock music but it was the classical music on soon, because in his opinion the two styles of music to be working very much against each other. He developed a taste for unusual clothes and soon put his desire into action, playing in a band.

Music career

In 1976, he joined the fledgling band Twisted Sister and released several successful albums. After the dissolution of the band in 1987, Snider tried on various projects. He founded in 1992 the band Widowmaker, with whom he released two albums. In 2000, a solo album Never Let the Bastards Wear You Down with previously unreleased songs came on the market. Currently Snider hosted the radio show House of Hair that is sent nationwide in the United States. 2003 Twisted Sister reunited and launched its first European tour for many years. He took several Broadway Songs New, in duet with Cyndi Lauper and Clay Aiken; these songs are on the album Dee Does Broadway, which will be released on May 8, 2012 on Razor & Tie.

Acting Career

In addition, he wrote, produced and played for the movie Dee Snider's Strangeland (1998). In 2012 he stood for the comedy - horror romance series Holliston front of the camera and they hosted the Chicago Fear Festival.

Private

Snider lives with his wife, Suzette, with whom he has been married since 1981, his three sons, Jesse, Shane and Cody and his daughter Cheyenne in Setauket, New York. On 8 May 2012 Snider published with " Shut Up and Give Me the Mic: A Twisted Memoir " his memoir about Gallery Books.
