Deep cervical artery

The deep cervical artery ( "deep neck artery ") is an artery of the neck. It originates mostly from the costocervical trunk and pulls between the first rib neck and the transverse process of the sixth cervical vertebra spine upward and between musculus semispinalis capitis and cervicis towards the head, where it loses itself in the amount of the second cervical vertebra. The deep cervical artery supplies the deep neck muscles.
