Deer Island (New Brunswick)

Located in the middle of Passamaquoddy Bay Island Deer Iceland is a hub for ferry traffic in the border region of the Canadian province of New Brunswick and the U.S. state of Maine. It belongs to West Isles Parish in Charlotte County.

Ferries run all year between L' Etete and Lambertville and seasonally between Leonardville and Welshpool ( Campobello Iceland) and Leonardville and Eastport (Maine).

The 45 km ² island is dominated by agriculture, which is less than 1,000 permanent residents in the settlements Lambertville, Lord 's Cove, Leonardville and Fair Heaven inhabitants are descendants of immigrant Loyalists in 1784. Apart from agriculture are tourism and the lobster breeding of importance.

Between the censuses of 2001 and 2006 the population fell from 851 to 824
